Throughout the long history of civilization, the identity, freedom, and existence of nations have been built on the unwavering vision, endless dedication, and self-sacrifice of extraordinary leaders. They were not only political leaders, but also the embodiment of their nation’s hopes, aspirations, struggles, and victories. Therefore, they are immortalized with the title The Father of the Nation.
It is important to note that The Father of the Nation refers to the architects of nation-states in geographical and political history—not in a religious context. Each religion has its spiritual forefathers, e.g., Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), who is revered in many religions, but he is not the founding father of a specific state-based nation.
Founding fathers are essentially the great men of history who united the nation, ignited the flame of independence, and guided their people at crucial moments. Their contributions resonate beyond political boundaries into the human spirit. In this article, I have attempted to list the names of these great leaders and the countries or states they helped define through their leadership and sacrifice. Their inspiration continues to light the way from generation to generation.
